June Monthly Meeting

June’s meeting topic:   Stones and You

Stones are an amazing tool in every aspect of life, magical and mundane. We will talk about different stones that are great to have on hand, the differences between made made & man enhanced, and the different uses for stones in life. There will be plenty of examples of different stones on hand for people to look at and feel their energy.

Meeting will be June 17th, 7-11pm.  We will plan on meeting at the small pavilion at Anderson Park.

Beltane Camping 2017

Thank you for your interest, registration for this event is now closed.  

Join us ’round the maypole for our Beltane Camping trip!  This is event is open to the public.  Enjoy the blessing of our new Maypole, a Beltane ritual, community stew, impromptu workshops and games, and fellowship with your community!  This camping trip is very family-style:  We have a group camping site reserved at Moraine View, food and drink are often shared, and camping is close together.

Blessing of the Maypole Ceremony will be at 10am on Saturday.  The Main Beltane Ritual will be Saturday afternoon at 5pm.  If you are coming only for ritual, please arrive before 2pm, to give yourself time to meet others and get in the community spirit.

Saturday evening we will be sharing community stew.  Please bring along an ingredient for the stew; ideas for ingredients are: root or other vegetables (no onions please!  We have a members with allergies), stew meats, beans (canned, not dry), pasta, canned tomatoes, etc.  We will have a community stew for vegetarians as well!  1-2 cups of your ingredient is plenty!  We will also have a community snack table and would like to keep a couple pots of hot drinks going: please consider bringing apple cider, hot beverage drink mixes (hot cocoa, tea, etc), or snacks to share.  If you are unable to contribute to the community food, you are still welcome to join us & partake.  We do not *ever* want to leave anyone out due to financial hardship!

We will be located at the Moraine View State Park in Group Camping area.  Camping will be open 9am Friday, May 5th through noon Sunday, May 7th.

Cost for the weekend is:

  • $25 per person 12 yrs and up
  • $10 per child 3yr-12yrs.
  • If you are only attending ritual on Saturday but not camping, the cost is $5 for all participants 3 yrs and up.
  • Children under 3 years old are free.

 

YOU MUST REGISTER IN ORDER TO ATTEND!  This is very important as we need a head count for ritual.  Registration closes on Tuesday, May 2nd.  Space is limited.  If you plan to pay in cash when you arrive, please note that in the “Special Notes” section of the RSVP form.

 

 

April 2017 Monthly Meeting

April’s meeting topic: Discernment.
We’ll discuss how to tell if what you’re looking at is solid, what’s real, what’s in your head and how to tell the difference between what is physical, paranormal and divine.

March 2017 Monthly Meeting

Basic Pagan Etiquette

With the spring and summer solstices come the rush of Pagan Celebrations and Festivals to choose from. Our discussion will be basic pagan etiquette – the do’s and don’ts of surviving festival season and a discussion of different festivals to attend, our experiences at festivals, pet peeves and the things that make us adore our wonderful and diverse community! Join us for what will no doubt be a lively and informative discussion!

February Monthly Meeting 2017

We’ll be discussing Advocacy and Activism. The differences between the two, the laws protecting and pertaining to both, and a number of groups associated with getting involved in causes, and how to protect themselves if they choose to get involved in these uncertain times. Everyone will have a chance to discuss their concerns and anxieties and, as several of the group members are also members of activist/advocacy groups, we can support and help each other learn how to react and act to what’s happening in our world today.

January Monthly Meeting

Come, let your voice be heard!  We’ll be discussing meeting topics and the direction Pagans In Touch is taking in the new year!

Meeting will be held January 21st, 7-11pm at the Bone Student Center.  We typically will meet in the Student Lounge on the 3rd floor in the East wing.

November Monthly Meeting

Join us as we host a Pagan Q&A… Whether your a newbie or a community elder (or anywhere in between!) you’re welcome to attend. Bring your questions, bring your knowledge and we’ll do our best to put them together in a way that makes sense!

Where: ISU, Bone Student Center, 3rd floor lounge, east wing

Samhain Camping

Join us during the upcoming Black Moon as we celebrate Samhain!   Enjoy a nighttime Samhain ritual in the woods, community stew, impromptu workshops, and fellowship with your community!  This camping trip is very family-style:  We have a group camping site reserved at Moraine View, food and drink are often shared, and camping is close together.

 

We will have an Ancestors Altar available this year.  You may place photos of Ancestors, tokens of remembrance at the alter.  Tea-light candles will be available to light for ancestors.  You may leave offerings for them as well.  Any items remaining at the close of the event will be left as offerings for the Ancestors.

Main ritual will be Saturday night, after dark.  If you are planning on coming only to the ritual, please join us as early as possible to meet others and foster a sense of community with all participants.  For main ritual you may need a flashlight and you will need to dress for the weather (prepare to be in the woods, away from fire– lots of layers, warm socks, and boots are suggested).  If you would like to bring a staff or walking stick to help you navigate the terrain in the dark,  you are welcome to do so.   Main ritual is not suggested for those with mobility issues or for children under the age of 13.  If you have mobility issues and would like to participate, please contact us directly.  Once you are registered, you will receive an email with details on how to prepare for ritual.

 

The cost for weekend camping is $25 per person (13 & up), and $5 per child ages 3-12.  Children under 3 are free.  Cost for ritual only is $5 per person.  Cost for the weekend will cover campsite fees, evening meals, and ritual.  More information as it becomes available.

Topic: A Discussion of Ethics

As Pagans, what are our morals and ethics?  How do our values compare to society as a whole?  We will discuss our community and the challenges we face and how we handle them.

September 2016 Meeting

Symbolism

Join us as a member of our teen group  leads a discussion on symbolism.  We’ll do an overview of basic magickal symbols regarding animals and plants – totems, flowers, plants – what they mean and how to apply them in magical use.
